The Gilbert Residence, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation with a local Board of Trustees.

Staff:
Consisting of about 85 full and part time staff, including licensed nurses, certified nursing assistants, resident assistants, med. techs, life enrichment staff, social worker, registered dietitian, dining and nutritional services staff, laundry, housekeeping and maintenance staff, etc. Support services such as medical director, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, podiatry, and dental are provided under contract. Several attending physicians provide services here.

Building specifics:
35,000 square feet, one story, brick, five wing building located on the banks of the Huron River. Built in 1960 with major addition in 1972. Exterior enhancements 2007. Mostly air-conditioned. Fully sprinkled.

Nursing Care:
32 person licensed nursing facility. Comprised of 15 semi-private rooms and 2 private rooms. Medicaid certified. A major renovation completed in 2005.

Supportive/Assisted Living:
40 person licensed home for the aged facility. Comprised of 34 single rooms and 4 double rooms that are ideal for couples. A major renovation completed early in 2002. Specialized Dementia Unit (Grace Hall) established in 2006.

Day Services:
Available for persons on waiting list to establish a familiarity that will aid in move-in transition while giving opportunities for socialization and stimulation. Family caregivers also receive much needed respite.
