In the spirit of our benefactor, William H. Gilbert, our vision for the Gilbert Residence is to remain a vital part of the Ypsilanti community by using our existing location to provide housing, assistance in living, and nursing care for older adults.

 It is our desire to be responsible stewards of our resources to ensure our long-term viability, and to collaborate with others in identifying opportunities to enhance our capabilities in delivering compassionate and quality care.

We are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation with a local Board of Trustees.

35,000 square feet, one story, brick, five wing building located on the banks of the Huron River.

Built in 1960 with major addition in 1972. Exterior enhancements 2007. Mostly air-conditioned. Fully sprinkled.

The Gilbert Residence, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation with a local Board of Trustees.

Consisting of about 90 full and part time staff, including licensed nurses, certified nursing assistants, resident assistants, med. techs, life enrichment staff, social worker, registered dietitian, dining and nutritional services staff, laundry, housekeeping and maintenance staff, etc. Support services such as medical director, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, podiatry, and dental are provided under contract. Several attending physicians provide services here.
