In the spirit of our benefactor, William H. Gilbert, our vision for the Gilbert Residence is to remain a vital part of the Ypsilanti community by using our existing location to provide housing, assistance in living, and nursing care for older adults.

 It is our desire to be responsible stewards of our resources to ensure our long-term viability, and to collaborate with others in identifying opportunities to enhance our capabilities in delivering compassionate and quality care.

  • ASSISTED LIVING
    Our assisted living community assists residents with activities of daily living.

    Residents will receive three meals per day, snacks throughout the day, medication management. Click here to learn more about our complete Assisted Living services.

  • MEMORY CARE
    Each resident will have a strength based service plan developed that is tailored to their individual abilities and challenges.

  • NURSING CARE
    Our nursing care community consists of specially designed rooms to accommodate a high level of care.

    Residents in our nursing unit may require assistance with activities of daily living or total care. The residents receive 3 meals per day, snacks throughout the day, daily programs, housekeeping, linen service, personal laundry service and 24/7 nurse oversight.

We are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation with a local Board of Trustees.

35,000 square feet, one story, brick, five wing building located on the banks of the Huron River.

Built in 1960 with major addition in 1972. Exterior enhancements 2007. Mostly air-conditioned. Fully sprinkled.

The Gilbert Residence, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation with a local Board of Trustees.

Consisting of about 90 full and part time staff, including licensed nurses, certified nursing assistants, resident assistants, med. techs, life enrichment staff, social worker, registered dietitian, dining and nutritional services staff, laundry, housekeeping and maintenance staff, etc. Support services such as medical director, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, podiatry, and dental are provided under contract. Several attending physicians provide services here.
